Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23rd, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. The youngest of five siblings. She has two younger brothers and sisters. Their parents gave their daughter the name Miley, in hopes to see her achieve a lot. The nickname she was given in her childhood, Smiley, due to her infectious personality later changed to Miley. Her father was an influential Democratic politician who was named Ron Cyrus. Cyrus started school with Heritage Elementary School. Cyrus and her parents, moved to Toronto Canada in 2001 after she was 8. Their father Billy Ray played a character on the TV series Doc. Cyrus started to think about acting at this point. The film Doc (2001), she performed alongside her father. In 2003, she had a minor part in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus performed the role of Hannah Montana for Hannah Montana (2007), an animated Disney TV show about an unassuming young woman who lives in a dual life as a star. Again her father acted alongside her. This show became a hit and tours sold out as well as hit record and merchandise deals were also in the pipeline. Cyrus was a teen-sized star. After the huge success of Hannah Montana (2006), Cyrus began to move to other roles, including the role of Ronnie Miller in The Last Song (2010) and Lola on LOL (2012) with Demi Moore.
